Muzugu Terms of Service

Please read these rules and guidelines carefully before using the Muzugu marketplace app. Last updated: August 2026.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Muzugu. These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Muzugu regarding your access to and use of our mobile app and online marketplace platform.

By creating an account, browsing listings, or posting items for sale on Muzugu, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction to create an account or publish listings on Muzugu.

2. Account Registration & Security

To utilize buyer and seller features on Muzugu, you must register for an account using accurate and verifiable information.

User Responsibilities

Maintain strict confidentiality of your login credentials
Provide accurate contact phone numbers and details
Promptly update profile details if information changes
Accept full responsibility for all activities under your account

Account Suspensions

Creation of multiple duplicate accounts is strictly forbidden
Accounts impersonating businesses or individuals will be banned
Improper use of SMS verification codes risks permanent exclusion

3. Listing Rules & Prohibited Items

Muzugu is a community marketplace. Sellers must ensure all posted items are legal, safe, and accurately represented.

Strictly Prohibited on Muzugu:

Weapons & Narcotics: Firearms, explosives, illegal prescription drugs, or controlled substances.

Counterfeit Goods: Knockoff designer items, pirated software, or fraudulent documentation.

Stolen Property: Items without proof of legitimate ownership or reported stolen to law enforcement.

Deceptive Ads: Misleading prices, bait-and-switch offers, or false product condition descriptions.

4. Buyer & Seller Transactions

Muzugu operates primarily as an peer-to-peer advertising platform connecting local buyers and sellers:

Direct Agreements: Contracts for sales are formed directly between buyer and seller. Muzugu is not a party to any transaction unless escrow or premium payments are explicitly specified.
In-Person Safety: We strongly urge users to inspect items thoroughly in public, well-lit locations before transferring payments.
Fees & Promotions: Basic listings are free. Optional paid promotions or seller subscriptions are non-refundable once activated.

5. Safety Guidelines & Fraud Warning

Protecting our community from scams is paramount. Users must exercise caution and adhere to Muzugu safety recommendations.

Golden Safety Rules:

Never wire funds, send mobile money deposits, or pay upfront before viewing an item.
Avoid sellers or buyers who refuse to meet in person or attempt to move chats off Muzugu's secure messaging.
Report suspicious ads, unrealistically low prices, or abusive users immediately via the "Report Ad" button.

6. Limitation of Liability

Muzugu provides the marketplace platform on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Muzugu disclaims all liability for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from item defects, transaction disputes, fraudulent user conduct, or service interruptions.
